Albertino T. Lopes
Albertino T. Lopes, 91, of Newington, beloved husband of the late Maria (Santos) Lopes, died Wednesday, September 17. 2014 at home. He was born in Mira de Aire, Portugal, while living in Portugal he owned and operated a shoe store. He came to Hartford in 1967 and was employed at St. Francis Hospital and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Albertino leaves his two daughters, Idalina Lopes and Maria de Fatima Lopes both of Newington; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Maria Julia Rosa and her husband Manuel of Hartford and Luciana Pilheira Lopes of Portugal. He also leaves several nieces and nephews in the CT, FL, MD, Canada and Portugal. He was predeceased by his sisters, Elvira Ferreira, Idalina Jorge and her husband Manuel; also his brothers, Francisco Lopes and his wife Fernanda and Angelo Lopes and Delfino Lopes. The funeral procession will be Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 10:00 am from the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Saturday from 8:30 to 10:00 am at the funeral home prior to the Mass. A Seven Day Mass will be celebrated onThursday, September 25, at 7:00 pm at the Church.
