Abel Aldave 75 of Farmington passed away December 12, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was the son of Bartolome Aldave and Vicenta Barba. He was born in Chiquian, Peru and has been a resident of Farmington for 20 years. He was educated in schools in Lima, Peru. He was employed as a gunsmith for Colt Manufacturing. He attended church faithfully and was very devoted to Saint Rose of Lima. Abel was an active participant of the Saint Rose of Lima Committee and organized the annual festival in her honor. He was passionate for the music and food of his country and hosted “Pachamancas” yearly at his home for family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Cuentas, a son Bernard Abel Aldave of Phoenix, AZ and his daughter Carol Katherine and her husband Ari Koutouvides of Stamford, CT. His brother Francisco Aldave of Peru, three sisters Lola Jara of Newington, CT, Bertha Aldave and Elvira Aldave of Lima, Peru. Three grandchildren Katerina, Isabella and Sofia Koutouvides of Stamford, CT and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Juan and Victor Aldave and a sister Asuncion Aldave. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 17, 2012 at 9:00am from the Sheehan-Hilborn- Breen Funeral Home 1084 New Britain Avenue West Hartford, CT followed by a mass by Christian Burial at 10:00am from the Church of Saint Bridgid of West Hartford. Burial will be in Mt St Benedict Cemetery Bloomfield. His family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2pm – 6pm.
