Obituary for Edward W "Eddie" Jurgelas

Edward W. "Eddie" Jurgelas, 62, of West Hartford, died peacefully at his home on Sunday morning, March 26, 2017. Born in Hartford, son of the late Walter S. and Antoinette (Delgaudio) Jurgelas, he graduated from Conard High School, Class of 1973 and was a resident of West Hartford all his life. Eddie was a Connecticut State Marshal for over 30 years.
He was a member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, a professional baseball umpire for High Schools, Colleges and the Twilight League and a lifetime member of The National Sheriffs' Association. He leaves his sister, Barbara; his best friend, Gunther, his uncle and aunt, Arthur and Isabel Staib and his uncle and aunt, Bill and Pat Delgaudio, all of West Hartford and several cousins. There are no calling hours. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, (April 1, 2017), 10:00 am at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, (section M), Cottage Grove Ave., Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to High Hopes, 44 Woodland Terrace, Meriden, CT or the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
