It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen Sheehy Hart, 53, of Hartsdale, NY, daughter of Anna (Kelliher) Sheehy and the late John Sheehy. She leaves behind her beloved daughters Madailein and Alexandra Hart of Scarsdale, NY. Born in Hartford on August 12, 1963, she was raised in West Hartford and graduated from Hall High School in 1981. She was employed at Kostin, Ruffkess & Company for over 15 years before moving to Scarsdale, NY. She most recently worked for The Richman Group and Maizie Consignment Store. Maureen also volunteered for multiple community organizations, including the Junior League of Westchester, the PTA at her daughter’s schools and most notably High Watch Recovery Center in Kent, CT, where she had a positive impact on those struggling with addiction. Mo was fiercely independent and loved Fleetwood Mac, corny jokes and a good bowl of pasta.
In addition to her mother and two daughters, she is survived by her siblings; John Sheehy and his wife Dawn of Dunedin, FL, Catherine Cormier and her husband Dave of West Hartford, Patricia Cronin and her husband Phil of Amesbury, MA, Meg Sheehy of New York City and Sarah Dyke and her husband Mac of Fargo, ND; nieces and nephews, Ryan Sheehy, Trey Cormier, Ann and Elizabeth Cronin and Perry Dyke; she also leaves many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. Maureen was also blessed to have a very loyal and supportive group of close friends and colleagues.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Claver Church, 47 Pleasant St, West Hartford on Saturday, January 28, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Arrangements are being handled by Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford.
