Gladys (Johnson) Courtemanche, 93, of Farmington, beloved wife of the late Roland J. Courtemanche, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at The Seabury in Bloomfield. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late John A. and Pearl (Murphy) Johnson, she was a resident of Farmington for many years. Prior to her retirement, Gladys was employed at John Dempsey Hospital for several years.
Gladys was predeceased by a son, Robert "Bobby" Courtemanche. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and John Powers of Enfield and Karen and Doug Gomez of Cape Coral, FL; a daughter-in-law, Pam Courtemanche of Altoona, FL; a sister, Gertrude MacWilliam of Bloomfield; four grandchildren, Tammy Keen, Stephanie Meissner, John Paul Powers and Robert Joseph Courtemanche; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She also was predeceased by a brother, Edwin Johnson and a sister, Ethel Johnson O'Meara. Funeral Service will be Friday, December 2, 11:00 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. Calling hour will be prior to the Service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd S #4b, Southington, CT 06489 or Seabury Meadow Memory Care, 100 Seabury Drive, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
