John William ""JW""  Crane
John William (J.W.) Crane, 38, of North Canton, CT died Saturday, November 12, 2016 at UConn Health Center in Farmington, CT, after battling an inoperable Glioma Anaplastic Astrocytoma. J.W. was born in Hartford on December 21, 1977 to Hollys Radigan Crane and the late John Joseph Crane, Jr. J.W. attended Canton public schools and was graduated from Canton High School, Class of 1996. He studied and worked in film while living in North Carolina. J.W. relished team sports throughout his youth including soccer, football and lacrosse. He was part of the state championship soccer team during his senior year of high school. He was an enthusiastic Red Sox and Patriots fan. J.W. loved hiking and was well known for his sense of humor and love of all animals, most especially his many pets. He was a foodie, who enjoyed dining out and cooking at home. J.W. was blessed with numerous great friends, many of whom were able to spend much appreciated time with him and his family in the last weeks of his life, and others whose many calls and inquiries sustained him and the family throughout his brief illness. J.W. was a registered organ donor and despite his illness was able to donate to Eversight. In addition to his mother, Holly, he leaves his fiancée, Lauren D. Tyson, their three month old son, Jaxon William Crane, and his beloved dog, Buttercup. He is also survived by his aunt Ann C. Decozio of Old Saybrook, and his cousins, Sheila F. Tanguay and Kathleen M. Ford. J.W. was predeceased by his father, John J. Crane, Jr., and his aunts, Mary C. Crane and Patricia R. Ford. Services will be held on Saturday, November 19 with visiting hours from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, CT, followed by a 10:30 Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Sorrows in Hartford, CT. Burial will be at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UConn Cancer Research Fund ℅ UConn Foundation, 10 Talcott Notch Road, Suite 100, Farmington, CT 06032, or an animal advocacy charity of the donor’s choice.
