The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Frank Flaherty can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

My colleague and friend

I, along with many others, was saddened to read about your father's passing.  I taught with him for many years in Windsor Locks and he made that time so much better for me.  We taught side by side and shared many laughs discussing events both wthin the school and at our respective homes.   He was so proud of all of you and of course your Mom.  I remember him beaming with pride when your mom was taken by 4-wheel drive to St. Francis to do her job with the newly born during a blizzard.  I also remember vividly his wearing that Providence College football jacket every day after Jimmy gave it to him. (later over that Irish knit sweater he bought on his first trip to Ireland)  He  always  had a good story to tell about the antics of the girls and of  Frankie (whom he believed  would start with a horrible situation and somehow it would turn out perfectly due to some sort of devine intervention).  I remember how proud he was of all of you, to the point when our superintendent bragged how his child had graduated with high honors from PC, he shared he had several kids who had done that...I can't remembrer how many but it was more than one!  When I  worked with him, he only had one grandchild, Brenden.  He would often have a story of his accomplishments at elelmentary school, beaming with pride as he told of whatever it was. I often told people who really never got to know him that they were missing something special...he was like an onion...the more you peeled, the more you found.  What  a person; very meaningful and important and special to me as well as countless others.  I miss his humor, the twinkle in his eyes, his stories and his love of all things Irish.(Is home made marinara sauce Irish?)  The obit captures his spirit perfectly!  I am glad to have known him.  The world is a little worse off now that he is gone.  My best to all of you.  He was quite a man!
