Obituary for Lawreen Florence McCann (Toscano)

Lawreen Florence (Toscano) McCann, 76, of West Hartford, passed away in the guiding hands of St. Francis Hospice Care on July 10, 2016. She passed peacefully with her devoted sons at her side. She is predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Florence Toscano as well as her brother, Gerald Cushman and her loving husband Brendan McCann of 41 years. She is survived by her two sons Brendan McCann of West Hartford, Sean McCann and his wife Dina of West Hartford, her grandchildren, Ciara, Shealyn and Declan and many nieces and nephews. Lawreen was born and raised in Hartford on December 17, 1939, graduated from Our Lady of Sorrows and Trinity High and worked for The Aetna for 42 years. She retired in 1998 to become a dedicated grandmother. Lawreen remained active in the St. Patrick-St. Anthony community, WH Senior Center and cared for many seniors over 10 yrs. Her passion was her grandchildren; being involved in all their activities as well as teaching them the blue collar way of working. She loved to play bingo and take trips to the Casino. Lawreen was a selfless, kind person who always thought of others. Above all she was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 at Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave, West Hartford. Funeral procession will be Thursday 9:00 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am, Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick St. Anthony Church, Hartford.
