Obituary for Zoila Antonia Rovira

Zoila Antonia Rovira, 83 of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2022, after many years of battling Alzheimer’s. Zoila was born in Santa Marta, Colombia. She was raised by parents Rebecca biuda de Rovira and Alex Rovira, along with her sisters Gladys and Rebecca Rovira and brother, Alex Rovira.

Before moving to the United States, she taught high school in Barranquilla, Colombia. In 1966, she moved from Barranquilla, Colombia to Hartford, Connecticut. Zoila worked at the Travelers Insurance Company until her retirement after 41 years. She volunteered for years at the Bushnell, was a prolific gardener, and an avid bridge player. She was a seamstress on the side and made many prom dresses, wedding dresses, and bridesmaid dresses along with other outfits. She loved to travel around the world. Zoila was a very generous giver and has blessed many family members and organizations through her generosity.

Zoila is predeceased by her parents, Alex and Rebecca Rovira, her brother Alex Rovira and sisters Gladys, Carmen, and Cecelia Rovira. She is survived by her sister Rebecca Rovira and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Saturday, October 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford.
