On February 7, 2024, we lost a really, good guy. William J. “Bill” Kenny, Jr. was born on August 1, 1955 in Hartford to the late William and Mary (McCooe) Kenny. He was the fifth of seven children and in some ways the best of all of us.

Bill graduated from Our Lady of Sorrows Grammar School in 1969 and Northwest Catholic High School in 1973. He had a long career with the State of Connecticut Department of Information Technologies attaining the status of Supervisor 2. Bill was a major fan of the New York Yankees, Giants and Knicks. He eagerly awaited the start of the UCONN Basketball season, both for the men and women. March Madness was always something to look forward to.

Bill leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Toni Ann Kenny, and his sisters, Maura Kenny, Anne Fitzgerald, and Elizabeth Kenny. He had six nephews and one niece who produced five great nephews and five great nieces. They were very much loved by Bill and he always loved getting pictures of them in e-mails. They are all really, great kids.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 79 New Park Avenue, Hartford. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
