Mathai Varkey Nellikunnel, (91) of West Hartford, CT, April 27, 2021. Beloved son of the late Mathai and Elikutty Mathew. Loving husband to Mariam Varkey Nellikunnel. Devoted father of Vincent George (Ancy Mathirampuzha) Lilykutty Thomas (Thomas John) and Lisy Mathews (Mathews Kallukalam). Brother of Kurian (Annamma), Annamma (Chacko), Kuriyappachan (Kunjeli), Mathai (Mami). Proud grandfather of John, Neena (Lijo) and Nimi Thomas, Margaret, Christine and Elizabeth George, Merin Mary and Minu Mathews. Mathai was a twin born in Mudiyoorkara, Kottayam, Kerala, India. He was an active member of St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Church. He enjoyed farming and watching the news when he was not praying the rosary with his family.

Services will be held at St Thomas Syro Malabar (Church of St. Helena Parish), 30 Echo Lane, West Hartford, Thursday, April 29, 2021 beginning at 9 am.
