Tyler A. Merritt, 60, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2020, surrounded by his wife of 38 years, Ann (Spielman) Merritt, their son James Merritt and his wife D’Arcy Maine, his brother-in-law Joe Mangene, and his niece and nephews Jessica, Adam and Wade Federspiel. They shared stories, memories and inside jokes, just as Tyler would have wanted.
In addition to those by his side at the time of his death, he is survived by his brother Jayson Merritt, brother Colin Merritt and his wife Katrina, brother-in-law Mike Pelletier, several beloved nieces and very close friends. He is predeceased by his parents Mary and Phillip Merritt, his sister Kim Pelletier, sister-in-law Vicky Mangene and his mother- and father-in-law Carol and James Spielman.
Tyler loved the New York Mets, road trips to Maine, computer games and growing vegetables in the backyard, but there was nothing he loved more than his family. He frequently organized gatherings and barbeques, and his persistent text messages will be fondly missed.
Calling hours will be Friday, January 17th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Funeral services will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org.
