SPC Thomas Angelo Pattavina left us Dec. 25, 2020 to become one of God’s angels. He was born on Feb. 24, 1991 in Boca Raton, FL to Angel D’Onofrio Pattavina and Daniel S. Pattavina. Tommy will forever be remembered for his wonderful smile and laugh that would light up an entire room. He was a kind, sweet, gentle soul with a heart of gold that would give anyone the shirt off his back. Tommy was very passionate & excited about all his interests. He had a black belt in karate, was an avid Miami Dolphins fan, enjoyed gaming, flying his drone and loved discussing history and SpaceX. Tommy loved all animals, especially dogs. He was a graduate of William T. Dwyer High School in Palm Bch Gardens, FL where he was a member of the Lacrosse team. He received a diploma in welding at Lincoln Technical Institute and was also pursuing a career in HVAC. Tommy’s childhood dream was to become a soldier. He served as a member of the U.S. ARMY and Reserves for 10 years. Tommy did a tour of duty in Afghanistan with the 810 Military Police Unit in 2014. He was awarded 9 medals including the National Defense Service Medal, the NATO Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. His family will be forever proud of his patriotism and his service to our country.
Tommy loved his family above all else. He leaves behind his parents, Angel D’Onofrio Pattavina & her partner, Tony Cerutti of Hartford; and Daniel & Faith Pattavina of Boynton Beach, FL. He was a devoted brother to his siblings: Nicole Pattavina & partner Eric T. Lusa of Hartford, Jessica Hubschmitt of Wethersfield, Danielle Poirier & husband Kevin of Colchester and Scott Hindle of FL. He also leaves 5 nieces and nephews: Lauren & Jonathan Hubschmitt, Piper & Lincoln Poirier, and Hailey Hindle. He will be deeply missed by his loving fiancé Molly Tuller & her son Declan of Ashford.
He is also survived by aunts and uncles: Kim Palm & husband Eric, Lynn Field & fiancé Curt Carlson, Jenny Gatto & husband Chris, Marybeth Morelli, Tom D’Onofrio and a great aunt, Enes Butts. He leaves cousins: Jude Alexander, Nick Palm, Joe & Sophie Gatto, Michael Morelli, Corey Mazon and other extended family members. He will also be greatly missed by his Nana, Marie D’Onofrio of Terryville.
Tommy was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Rev. Angelo D’Onofrio & Judith Law D’Onofrio; fraternal grandparents, Eda & Angelo Pattavina as well as an uncle, Louis Morelli.
A heart of gold stopped beating, two shining eyes at rest, God broke our hearts to prove, He only takes the best.
