Obituary for Thomas S. Calvi
Thomas S. Calvi, 87, of Newington, beloved husband of Marie (Lauzier) Calvi, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019. Born in Hartford, son of the late Nicholas and Rose (Reale) Calvi.
Tom was a resident of Newington and formerly of West Hartford. Prior to his retirement he was employed at General Electric for 33 years. Tom was a U.S. Army veteran, having served active duty in the Korean War.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons and a daughter, Joseph M. Calvi of Enfield, Thomas J. Calvi and wife of Susan of West Hartford, John F. Calvi of West Hartford and Brenda Anderson of Hyannis, Mass. He also leaves four grandchildren, Katie Parache and Gunnar Anderson, Elizabeth and Nicholas Calvi a; great granddaughter, Marianna Parache, and his sister Theresa (Calvi) Corkum and husband Robert of Canton, and their family, niece Lori and nephew Michael.
Tom enjoyed golfing and gardening in his leisure time and was a longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox, NY Giants and the UCONN Huskies. He also enjoyed meeting with his many friends of the Hartford Northender’s and dinning at Ficara’s in Hartford.
Calling hours are Sunday, (December 22), from 3 to 6 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, (December 23), 10:00 am at Church of St Mary, Annunciation Parish, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
