Obituary for Theresa Veronica Schulz (Sera)
Theresa V. Schulz , 103 of West Hartford died peacefully in the presence of her sons on October 1, 2018 after a brief illness.
Theresa was born in Hartford March 8, 1915 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dominica (DiFolco) Sera. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years Werner A. Schulz in 2015 and all eight of her siblings, most recently her sisters Millicent Tobey and Ann Bodine.
Theresa was a caring, loving and graceful woman who always put the needs of her family and friends before herself. Sunday dinners at her home were events filled with spirited conversations, laughs, words of wisdom and the best home cooking anywhere. She continued that tradition well past her 100th birthday.
She is survived by her son William and his wife Barbara of Burlington, James and his wife Meliney of Glastonbury and grandchildren Gregory, Daniel, Sara (husband Alex) and John. She also leaves a brother-in-law Bernard Bodine and special friends Nell D’Onofrio, Richard Gasparini, and ChristineSesta along with nieces Mala, Sr. Rita Mary, Gloria, Rita, Mary, and Barbara.
Our family would like to thank the friends and caregivers she met at Brookdale Chatfield during her short stay there as well as the caring staff at the UConn Health Center in her final days and hours.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at the Church of St. Helena 30 Echo Lane in West Hartford at 11:00 am where Theresa was a long-time member. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com
