Steve died unexpectedly on August 19, 2018. Born on December 27, 1963, he was orphaned at two years of age, but soon was welcomed into the loving home of his adoptive family. Steve dealt stoically with his personal struggles, but was blessed with a dry, quick wit, the softest fisherman's touch, his gift to recall everything he read, and special aptitude to envision and execute fine woodwork projects. His absolute attention to detail and requirement for perfection in finishing a project was evident to anyone who saw or possessed a piece of his handmade furniture or signature chessboards. But the source of his greatest pride was his son, Steven, Jr.
Steve was predeceased by his biological parents, as well as his father, Francis G. Kosowicz and his brother, Frank Kosowicz. Besides being survived by his son, Steven (Little Steve), others who will miss him greatly but know he is in a better place are his mother, Gina B. Kosowicz; sisters, Kathryn Farrar, Susan Dinallo, Lynn Kosowicz, Ursula Wright, and Susan Trepczynski. Also, his brother in laws, Russ Dinallo; Bill Farrar; his "other brother" Butch Magurn and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Catholic funeral mass will be at 11 am, Friday, August 24, at St. Helena's Church, West Hartford followed by graveside services Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
