Obituary for Stephen Paul Smyser

Stephen Paul “Steve” Smyser
Stephen, age 39, of Danbury, CT, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24th, 2019 at Regional Hospice and Palliative Care. He was born on October 10th, 1979 in Hartford, CT where he spent his early childhood. Stephen spent his early adolescence living in California and then moved to Pennsylvania. This is where he became a diehard Steelers fan. May he always be waving the Terrible Towel from above. He graduated from Upper St. Clair High School in 1997. As a young adult, he moved back to Connecticut to his home roots. Stephen was an avid Red Sox fan. He enjoyed the family trip to Fenway Park.
He leaves behind his two beautiful daughters Avery Denise, age 8, and Jayna Madison, age 6, whom he loved dearly. They were his pride and joy; his reason for living. He is also survived by his father Steve M. Smyser and wife Annette; his brother Michael Smyser and wife Jennifer and their children Nathanial, Lindsey and Owen and his goddaughter Kimberly; his Aunt Joanne “Jody” Smyser; Uncle William “Bill” Smyser and wife Donna, and many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Paula Denise Smyser and will be interred with her at Fairview Cemetery.
Stephen will be greatly missed by all who took the time to get to know him. He will forever be remembered for his wit, his charm and his remarkable memory. Few people knew that he was an eloquent and expressive writer. Most importantly, Stephen had a deep love for his family, and cherished the time they would spend together playing practical jokes on each other, and enjoyed all of the family get-togethers.
