Obituary for Sophia Kostides
Sophia Kostides, 55, of Sunrise, FL and Hartford, CT, passed away unexpectedly on November 21, 2020 in FL. Born in Holyoke, MA, the loving daughter of Theopisti and the late Theodore Kostides. Besides her mother, she leaves her sister and brother-in-law Suzanne and Giannis Karampatsakidis; her nephews Panagiotis and Thodoris all of Greece; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; her best friend Theresa Buxton of East Hartford; as well as many other friends that she considered her extended family and predeceased by her life partner Doreen Seaman.
She was a graduate of South Catholic High School, Class of 1982 and later attended St Joseph’s College. She worked for The Aetna in Enfield and Middletown for many years as a Complaint Consultant and most recently was employed by Prime Communications. Sophie loved life, living it on her terms. She was the kindest, most caring and genuine person you would ever meet. She had a contagious smile and laugh that came straight from the tips of her toes. She enjoyed singing, going to concerts (among her favorites The Ramones and John Cougar, she would have been a groupie if she could have gotten away with it,) dancing, camping in Rhode Island, Disney, acting (she made her debut on "Third Watch" in 1999) and having a good time.
