Obituary for Sandra C. Henderson ( Serfass)
Sandra C. Henderson (Serfass) 66, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on March 11, 2021. Sandra was born on October 27, 1954 in Hartford, CT to the late Gordon and Irene (Lampert) Serfass. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Duane and Richard Serfass. Sandy was a lifelong resident of Newington, CT. She was married to the love of her life, Richard Henderson for 47 years.
In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by her son Richard Henderson Jr. and wife Ellen of Enfield; her daughter Melissa Aukstolis and husband Joe of Wethersfield and four grandchildren, Christopher and Nicholas Aukstolis, and Bailey and Miles Henderson who were her pride and joy. She is also survived by her sister Linda Serfass and brother George Serfass, both of Newington and her brother Paul Serfass and wife Halina of Virginia, and several nieces and nephews.
Over the years, Sandy loved camping, traveling to Las Vegas and visiting the casinos and playing bingo. We will all miss her macaroni and potato salad at all the parties and her famous pies at the holidays.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a walk through wake (masks and social distancing are required) at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave, West Hartford, CT 06110 on Tuesday, March 16 from 4pm - 7pm.
