Obituary for Rowena "Ann" A. Degenhardt

Rowena Ann Degenhardt, 80, died peacefully at her home in Farmington on September 18. Ann was born January 8, 1938 in the Bronx, N.Y., daughter of the late Rowena (Dunn) Degenhardt and Robert D. Degenhardt, MD. She was raised in Pelham Manor, N.Y., attended Virginia Intermont College and in 1958 went to work for Esso in Pelham. She moved to Enfield, CT in 1972 and resided in Farmington since 1976. Prior to her retirement in 1994, Ann had been an Executive Secretary for 20 years with Heublein. Inc., Farmington. For many years, Ann had enjoyed her time spent with her bowling buddies, she loved curling up with a good book and was proud to be able to share her cooking talents with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling her favorite places being Greece and China. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother, Richard N. Degenhardt and her loving felines. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ruth T. Degenhardt of Belfast, ME, two nieces, Andrea Degenhardt of Pittsfield, MA and Dana Degenhardt of Lincolnville, ME, her friends, Elizabeth DeGroat and Stuart Simon, and her feline friends, Misty and Romeo.
