Obituary for Roger W. LeBlanc

Roger LeBlanc, 93, of West Hartford, passed away Wednesday (March 6, 2019). Born in Hartford, son of the late William and Emma LeBlanc, he was a lifelong resident in West Hartford until a few years ago when he moved to South Carolina. Roger was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Lillian. A proud U.S. Navy Veteran who served in WWII. He received The American Theater Medal, Victory Medal, Asiatic Medal and the European Theater Medal (1 Star) before honorably discharging from the military in 1946. He went on to a career as a carpenter in the Carpenters Union. He is survived by two daughters Kathy LaBranche of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina and Debbie Sacharko and her husband Michael of West Hartford; four grandchildren, Lauren Madden and her husband John, Michael Sacharko-Wilkinson and his husband Craig, Ross Labranche and his wife Desiree and Erin Dolch and her husband Scott; 8 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Reese, Mackenzie, Ryan, Mason, Teagan, Madison and Harper; his brother Leo LeBlanc and his wife Norma; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters and son-in-law Richard LaBranche. He will be fondly remembered as Papa. Funeral Procession will be Tuesday 9:15 a.m. from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
