Robert James Zalucki Jr. passed away on August 22, 2020 at the young age of 49. He was predeceased by his parents Robert Sr. in 2015 and Joyce in 2005. Rob was the only son of five children, leaving behind his four sisters Lynn Goldfarb, Kim Barsalou, Janet O’Loughlin and Cheryl Gidman as well as his brothers-in-law Mark, Bob, Joe and John. He considered all of them his blood brothers. He was the sweet and loving Uncle Robby to his nieces and nephews Brooke, Kyle, Michael, Christine, Patrick, Paige, Hayley, Brendan, Summer, Zoe, Ian and Evan.Family meant the world to Rob. His many cousins, aunts and uncles will miss him dearly. He always enjoyed his Sunday visits with Uncle Bob. Also broken-hearted, his long-time girlfriend of 19 years, Karen Rakowski and her parents Angela and Jerry. Rob absolutely adored his pugs Pinky, Jeter and Reggie.
Rob was a lifetime resident of Simsbury, graduate of SHS 89’. He attended University of Hartford on a full scholarship to pitch for their baseball team, The Hartford Hawks. It was there he met his best buds “Mo & Cavanaugh”. He worked as a Contract Specialist for The State of CT with the Department of Administrative Services since 1994.
Rob was an avid New York Yankees fan, loved his Nissan Z, music, movies and making people laugh. Anyone who knew Rob, knew he had the best sense of humor. He was known for his endless supply
of fun t-shirts, baseball hats and camo anything. We will miss his blue eyes, warm smile and the best, tightest hugs in the world. We have lost one of the truly kindest people you will ever meet.
Rest in final peace, Bud.
