Robert V. Belyea, 92 of Newington passed away peacefully on Friday, September 23, 2022, surrounded by his family. Born in Boston, MA, on September 25, 1929, Robert spent his formative years in Shelburne, VT before going on to graduate from the New England Aircraft School, a division of Boston University, College of Engineering.

Robert was employed for 38 years at Pratt and Whitney Overhaul and Repair, a division of United Technology in Southington, CT. He spent his leisure time saltwater fishing in Long Island Sound and traveling the USA, enjoying the beauty of our national parks.  

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Whitford Belyea; daughters, Valerie Dumont and her husband Martin, Lisa Salvio and her husband Gerald, both of Newington; sons, Daniel and his wife Karen of Crestwood, KY and John Belyea of Cromwell.  Robert was a caring grandfather to his eleven grandchildren, Gerald Jr., James, Michelle, Christopher, Austin, Carrie, Robert, Cody, Brandon, Chelsea and Kayla and delighted to have four great grandchildren, Gracelyn, Aiden, Bentley and Serenity.

Besides his parents Robert N. and Leta M. Belyea, Robert is predeceased by his grandson Martin Robert Dumont.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Grace Episcopal Church, 124 Maple Hill Avenue, Newington, Friday, October 14, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory may be made to Grace Episcopal Memorial Fund, 124 Maple Hill Avenue, Newington, Newington Volunteer Ambulance, 71 John Stewart Drive, Newington, or Cherish our Children Angel Statue, 20 Bonair Avenue, Newington.
