Robert “Bob” O’Brien, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the age of 93.

Bob was born on July 17, 1929 in Waterbury, CT, son of James and Albina O’Brien. He is an Army Veteran of the Korean War, graduated from the University of Connecticut and worked in the Finance Department at Travelers.

After meeting at a Saint Anne Catholic Church card party, Bob married Rita (Fontaine) O’Brien in 1957. His family loved spending time listening to him on the piano, playing setback together and taking trips to the beach. Bob was a long time member of Saint Brigid Church and also enjoyed belonging to the Fernleigh Lawn Bowling Club.

Besides his wife, Bob is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Marian O’Brien and Clifford and Kathy O’Brien; his grandchildren, Casey, Natalie, Samantha, Stephanie, Teddy and Jancis, and his four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers James and Edward O’Brien and his sister Rita LeClerc.
