Obituary for Raymond J.F. Poulin

Raymond J.F. Poulin, 87, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2022, surrounded by family. He was born on April 2, 1934, in Winslow, ME, son to the late Ernest and Emeline (Ferland) Poulin. Raymond grew up in St. Alfred, Quebec, Canada. He was the husband of 52 years to Annette (Gilbert) Poulin of West Hartford, CT. Proud father of Alan S. Poulin, married to Natalie of Newington, CT, and Daniel R. Poulin, married to Jessica of Farmington, CT. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Matthew, Hannah, Reese, and Chase. As one of 13 siblings, Raymond stayed close to his family in both Canada and here in the United States. He is predeceased by seven siblings, and leaves behind his sisters Julienne Poulin, Jeannine Alain, Celine Quirion and Patricia Poulin all of Beauceville, Quebec, and his brother Rock Poulin of East Hartford, CT. Raymond served his country in the United States Army. He spent most of his career as a precision machinist at Pratt & Whitney (West Hartford), and prior to retirement as a facility manager at the Court of St. James (West Hartford). Raymond embraced his Canadian upbringing as a member of the French Social Circle Club (French Club), French Social Credit Union, and the French Social Building Association, and Le Federation Franco American, serving as the President for a period at each. He was a lifelong member/volunteer of the Knights of Columbus #6119, Connecticut's only French-Canadian Council. He also volunteered with the Cub and Boy Scouts of America for many years in various leadership roles. Services will be held at the St. Mark's Evangelist Church in West Hartford, CT on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 10am.
