Obituary for Patricia V. Adams (Sottile)

Patricia V. Adams (Sottile) of West Hartford, CT passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Pat, the loving wife of the late Donald Adams, was born in Hartford on July 15, 1935, to Joseph and Bessie (Izzi) Sottile. She attended Weaver High School and was employed by Heublein for many years.

During their retirement Pat and Don enjoyed spending winters in the close-knit community of Hobe Sound, Florida. Pat enjoyed entertaining her many friends and family, where nobody left her house hungry or dehydrated. She loved hosting her weekly bridge parties, as well as her family poker games. She would never miss her nightly Jeopardy show and her quick wit was always on display.

She is survived by her beloved son Michael and his wife Claire of Cheshire, CT.  Pat, or ‘Nona’, also leaves behind her three grandchildren: Sean and his fiancée Kim O’Neill of Stamford, CT; Kevin Adams of New York, NY and Bryan Adams of New York, NY. Pat loved to surround herself with her many beloved nieces and nephews, among them Karen and Jeff Cain of Dallas, TX; Bruce and Moira Balog of Glastonbury, CT; Hunter Cain of Wilmington, NC; Taylor Cain of Houston, TX; Danielle and Jake Leibowitz and their son Aiden of Oakland, NJ; Jennifer Balog of Vernon, CT; Jason and Danielle Kroot and their son Cooper of Portland, ME; Travis Kroot of Portland, ME; Lexi Kroot of Arlington, VA. Pat’s many friends from Florida and from the neighborhood meant the world to her, including Mary & Tom Brazel, Mimi Parks, Kim Meucci and Claire, Jennifer and Matthew Lombard.

In addition to her parents, Pat is predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Dave Balog.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 9:30 -11:00 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Church, 47 Pleasant Street, West Hartford, CT. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, 200 Whitman Avenue, West Hartford, CT.
