Obituary for Patricia Martucci (Fennell)

Patricia “Pat” (Fennell) Martucci, 77, beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Martucci Sr., passed away peacefully at her home in Newington on January 31st, 2014. Pat was born on April 12th, 1936 in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late William and Gertrude Fennell. Pat was a graduate of the Mount Saint Joseph Academy in 1953. Pat was an avid sports fan who enjoyed the UConn Women, Connecticut Sun, and the New England Patriots. Pat also took great joy in watching, travel hockey, Mooreland Hill baseball, Forman football, wrestling, and lacrosse, URI football, SCSU gymnastics and Curry College football. Pat loved playing bridge and Michigan rummy with her close friends, painting and making hand-made rugs. She especially looked forward to her Wednesday night dinners with Sue and Flo, Saturday night visits to Town Line, special visits from Anne, Joe, Brian, Sam and Jaxon, her trips to Massachusetts for board games with Will and Owen, and her special times with Vicki, Ryan, Alex and Emily. Pat is survived by her two sisters, Kathleen and her husband Wilfred Talbot of Avon and Ann and her husband Patrick McGovern of Wethersfield, as well as, her brother in-law Paul Condon of Hartford. She was predeceased by a sister Mary Condon of Hartford. Pat was a devoted mother to her four children, her daughter Mary Rose Sefter and her husband Stephen of Cary, North Carolina, her son Thomas Martucci Jr. and his wife Marzena of Bristol, her daughter Susan Martucci of Newington, and her son Charles Martucci of Newington. She also leaves two grandchildren, Rebecca Sefter of Cary, North Carolina, and Thomas D’Amato of Newport, Rhode Island. Pat is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and special friends. We would like to especially thank, Marilyn, Diane, Marie, Nancy, Tony, and her lifelong friend of 63 years Florence for your on-going love, friendship, and support. Pat’s family would like to thank the staff at Fresenius Medical Care Dialysis Center of Newington, King Philip Middle School and Rockville High School for their continued care and support to Pat & her family over the past 4 years. Funeral procession will be Tuesday, (Feb 4), 9:15 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am in The Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church St., Newington. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville. Calling hours are Monday, (Feb 3) from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
