Obituary for Pasquale "Pat" Tine

Pasquale “Pat” Tine, 85, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of 61 years to Girolama “Mimma” (Burgio) Tine, passed away peacefully at home, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 22, 1938 in Floridia, Sicily. The son of the late Rosario and Carmela Tine, Pat lived in the South End of Hartford most of his life, prior to moving to Wethersfield 25 years ago. Pat was a self-employed mason contractor. He was one of the founders of the Italian American Sportsmen Club of Hartford and a member of the Italian American Star where he enjoyed playing cards with friends.

Pat enjoyed hunting and fishing, but one of Pat’s greatest joys was spending time with his family at his summer home in Westbrook. While there, he enjoyed cooking with his wife, family and friends and especially loved being with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Pat leaves his three children; his daughter, Carmela Tine Porter and husband Dean R. of Wethersfield and two sons, Rosario Tine of Wethersfield and John P. Tine and wife Tracy of Wethersfield; his five cherished grandchildren, Alyssa (Porter) McInerney, Dean Michael Porter, John P. Tine, Jr., Matthew Russell Tine and Rosario Tine, Jr.; his five sisters and brothers-in-law, Nina Pirruccio, Linda Matarazzo, Yolanda Lowe, Grace Matarazzo and her husband Paul, Liz Randazzo and her husband Manny; and his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Giuseppe Tine and wife Nera and Guido Tine and his wife Maria. Pat also leaves many nieces and nephews in the U.S. and in Sicily whom he loved and adored. Pat was predeceased by a sister and four brothers-in-law, Maria and Sebastian Gallito, Bruno Matarazzo, William Lowe and Sebastiano Pirruccio.

A Funeral Service will be Friday, (February 10th) at 11:00 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
