Obituary for Olidy S. de Orozco

Olidy S. de Orozco, 96, died peacefully Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at NRRRC Nursing Home in Newington, CT. She was born September 17, 1925, in Managua, Nicaragua - Central America, the daughter of Andrés Silva Santamaría and Concepción Telleria de Silva. Olidy graduated from La Divina Pastora. After graduating from Julieta Matamoros de Moran Secretarial School, she worked for the Embassy of the United States in Managua. She was an entrepreneurial and successful woman who created an unprecedented path for her family with conviction. She founded a Printing Press business while raising her family. She moved to the United States in 1979, started working for the City of Hartford where she retired after 15 years.

In addition to her parents and siblings, she was predeceased by her daughter, Olidy Elizabeth. She leaves behind her Son-in-law Ahmad Shokoh-Alai, her daughters Marta S. Carroll and husband William of Pennsylvania; Maritza Delgadillo of Hartford; Xiomara B. Larson and husband Richard of Glastonbury; Indiana P. Williams and husband Leonard of Plainville. Her sons Armando J. Orozco-Silva of O’Fallon, IL., Rodrigo E. Orozco-Silva of Meriden and Carlos J. Orozco-Silva and wife Sandra of Newington. Sixteen grandchildren, Davar, Soraya, Alexander, Brenda, Belinda, Juan, María, Michael, Christopher, Gabriela, Andrew, Tatiana, Said, Emilio, Eric, and Caitlin. Also, twelve great-grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at the Newington Rapid Recovery Center for their love and support over the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church, 285 Church Street, Hartford, CT.
