Obituary for Norma (Blanco) Garcia

Norma (Blanco) Garcia, 76, of West Hartford, passed away on January 3, 2024. She was born on June 9, 1947, in Camaguey, Cuba, to the late, Alvaro Blanco and Nelida Monzon. Norma was predeceased by her loving husband Francisco “Paco” Garcia.

Norma is survived by her loving daughter, Maria-Elena Garcia, and her son-in-law, Joel DeJesus. She is also survived by her son, Frank Garcia, and her daughter-in-law, Heather Garcia. Norma cherished her role as a grandmother and leaves behind her grandchildren, Frank Garcia Jr., Güalí Garcia, Alexis DeJesus, and Emily DeJesus, as well as her great-grandchildren, Melody Garcia, Nora Garcia, and Hazel Garcia.

In addition, Norma is survived by her brothers, Oreste Monzon, Jorge Monzon, and Ricardo Monzon, as well as her sisters, Maria Gisela Blanco, and Ana Gilda Rivas.

Norma had a fulfilling career, dedicating 25 years of her life as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration.

Norma will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her kind and generous spirit.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, (January 10), 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Timothy, 1116 North Main Street, West Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com
