Obituary for Nancy Maschi (Sullivan)

Nancy (Sullivan) Maschi, 72, of Bow, NH, formerly of West Hartford, beloved wife of the late Ronald T. Maschi, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016. Born on April 16, 1943, in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late George and Cornelia (Hartnett) Sullivan and resided in West Hartford for 43 years before to moving to New Hampshire to be nearer to family.

Nancy attended East Hartford High School and graduated from Central Connecticut State College of which she was extremely proud. Early in her life Nancy was an elementary school teacher for the Cromwell Public School System until she married Ron on February 17, 1968 and they made their home on Somerset Street for many of their more than 42 years together before Ron’s passing in April 2010. Nancy was an avid reader, a communicant of St. Brigid Church, a member of the St. Brigid Ladies Guild and a consummate photographer. Her most joyous times were spent with her family and friends. The light of her life was her grandchildren and she enjoyed living close and being part of their daily lives for the past 4 years.

Nancy is survived by a son, Craig A. Maschi of Atlanta, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Elisa A. and Dean M. Owens of Hopkinton, NH; a sister, Jude Hersey and her husband Donald of Williston, VT; sister-in-law, Verna Maschi; brothers-in-law Douglas Maschi and Norman Blais; three grandchildren, Paige, Maeve and Cooper Owens; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother P. Barry Sullivan; sisters-in-law, Wendy Sullivan, Patricia Blais, Adele Caffrey; and brother-in-law Wayne Maschi.

Funeral procession will be Saturday, January 16, 9:15 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am in St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hours are Friday, January 15, from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
