Mary (Sciullo) Parola, of Newington, unexpectedly passed on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the age of 73 with her family by her side. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Mary was born to Anthony and Lucy (Gualtiere) Sciullo on May 17, 1950 in Hartford, CT. She graduated from Bulkeley High School in Hartford, Class of 1968. Mary retired after many years in fund development at Hartford College for Women, The Village for Families and Children and most recently, Hartford Hospital.

She enjoyed quilting, travel and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandkids and grandpets.

Mary was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Lucy (Gualtiere) Sciullo and her brother, Michael Sciullo. She is survived by Timothy Parola, her loving husband of 50 years; her daughters, Christine Skurkis and her husband Jeffrey of West Hartford and Julie Parola of New Britain; her two grandsons, Miles and Hayden Skurkis and her sisters, Natalie Barnas of West Hartford and LuAnne Armstrong and her husband Richard of West Hartford. In addition, Mary leaves several extended family members including many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be Friday (June 9) from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. A funeral procession will follow at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home for a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gianna Parish, St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
