Obituary for Mary L. Burke-Brignano
Mary Burke-Brignano of New Britain passed away on Friday September 13, 2019 at the New Britain Hospital of Central Connecticut. Mary was born in Hartford, as the daughter of Louise Decorleto (Burke) and the late Thomas Burke of West Hartford. She was raised in Elmwood and spent her 62 years of life in that area. Mary graduated from Conard High school, and Hairdressing Academy.
Mary is survived by her “peanut” daughter, Bridget Brignano, her devoted companion of 24 years Paul Tyrone Priester; sister, Lois Leardi, and niece Jacquelyn Williams.
Mary had faced numerous health issues through the years with unimaginable strength and courage. Through all of this she remained close with her faith. Both Bridget and Tyrone were by her side caring for her with love. We are grateful for the wonderful care and support of the ICU Nurses and Doctors at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. If you would like, please incorporate purple into your attire to help us remember and celebrate Mary, as it was her favorite color.

Funeral procession will be Thursday, 10:30 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am at St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
