Mary Anne Powers, age 62, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. She was born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Helena and Frank Powers. Mary Anne was born with several severe physical challenges and was cared for first by her parents, then at the Mansfield State Training School and her last years were spent at the Boyd Street Group Home in Winsted. During her first years at the home, Mary Anne was able to enjoy numerous outings with staff as well as other activities. At Boyd Street, staff noted how much she liked the TV soap opera “The Young and The Restless”, especially the character Victor. They also found her to be a happy and cooperative person. Everyone who knew her remembers what a large and beautiful smile she had. We would like to express our gratitude to Kim and her staff at Boyd Street for their great care of Mary Anne.
Mary Anne is survived by cousins Mark and Marnie Honiberg and Rosemary Rogers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 21 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Church, 626 Willard Avenue, Newington. A private burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com
