Obituary for Marion Crehan (Karlowicz)

There always comes a day that changes your life...today is one of those days. My mother Marion Crehan ( Karlowicz) known to everyone as “ Ma” born 12-04-1914 passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
She was the grandmother to my son Robert Bisaillon of Avon with his wife Deanna. The great grandmother to Ethan and Chase Bisaillon also of Avon.
Mother in law to my husband John Dias of West Hartford.
Second mother to Donna Langdo and her husband Nelson Langdo of Coventry and Gilbert Thibault and his wife Linda of Kensington.
Nieces Tammy and Allison from Coventry, Cindy from Kensington and predeceased by her nephew Gil from Kensington.
Nephews Walter Karlowicz and his wife Jean, Frankie Karlowicz and nieces Camille and MaryJean along with great nephews and nieces,
Its been a good life for her spending her time with us in West Hartford and at our beach home in Westbrook.
She was the daughter of the late Loretta and Walter ( Baretta) Karlowicz from Scranton Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her four brothers Walter, Joe, Charlie and Mike Karlowicz and two sisters Violet and Loretta.
She was employed by Building Maintenance and was the Union Stewart there until retiring in her 70’s.
A role model for sure, working nights so she could be home with us before and after school. Loved taking care of her grandson when he was little and it carried on to her great grandkids. For someone who lost her mother at 6 years old with no one to teach her she took on the role of mother and grandmother with grace and love.
She spent many hours listening and saying her rosaries for anyone who needed it.
She was a pleasure to be around and I’m sure be missed by everyone who got to know her. Special thanks and appreciation to Susan, Evie, Joan ,Carol Odell, Judy McGill, Carol Gagliardi and Ellen all are dear friends who took the time to help me get through difficult times during the past couple years.
I would also like to thank everyone who took the time to make my mother feel special whether it be a phone call, a visit with chocolates or that kiss from her special boyfriend, visits at the beach house just to see how she was doing. My husband Jack who sang “There she goes Miss America” as she went up the stairs in the chair lift.... my mother waving goodnight to him.She lived a remarkable life.
To me I am grateful to have been able to have her live with us and bring us so much joy and laughter.
Rest In Peace .... Ma you've been the best.......
A memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date.
