Maria Santos Correia, 97, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Jose C. Correia, died Sunday, December 6, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Choupico Batalha, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Joaquim Dos Santos and Justina De Jesus and had lived in Hartford since 1966. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Hartford Hospital and was a devote member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Maria is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ezequiel and Delminda Correia of East Hartford and Jose and Diamantino Correia of Vernon, a daughter and son-in-law, Zulmira and Antonio Mouta of Manchester; a brother, Jose Dos Santos of Portugal; two sisters, Emila DosSantos and Julia Ferreira of Portugal; seven grandchildren, Diamantino Correia, Blake Correia, Jennifer Costa, Ashley Mouta, George Correia, David Correia and Melissa Loteczka and five great-grandchildren, Diamantino, Anthony, Mason, Audrey and Everly. Her family wants to extend their gratitude to her caregivers, Neia Gomes, Solange Mouta and Tanya Ramos. Funeral procession will be Wednesday, (Dec. 9), 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Tuesday, (Dec. 8), from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. A Seven Day Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, (Dec. 12), at 5:00 pm at the Church.
