Maria Salome Ferreira Lavado, 89, of Newington, formerly of West Hartford, beloved wife of the late Agostinho D. Lavado, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, December 19, 2022. Born in Mire de Aire, Portugal, she came to Hartford in 1969 and lived in West Hartford for over 40 years, moving to Newington 10 years ago. Maria was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford, and a member of Cantinho de Saudade.

Maria leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Agostinho and Gracinda Lavado of Newington; her sister and brother-in-law, Isabel and Francisco Patinha of Rocky Hill; her sister-in-law, Lucia Ferreira of Newington and two grandsons, Christopher and Brian Lavado.

Besides her husband she was predeceased by her son, George M. Lavado; a brother Amilcar Ferreira and a sister, Lidia Silva.

The funeral procession will be Thursday, (December 22), 10:30 a.m. from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Entombment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hour will be prior to the funeral procession from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
