Maria (Fernandes) Paulo, of Manchester, formerly of Hartford, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Park Place Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Paia, Alcanena, Portugal on April 9, 1922, daughter of the late Julia Fernandes and Adelino Pena and came to the Hartford area in 1966.
Maria is survived by her two sons Arnaldo and his wife Maria Celeste Paulo of Manchester, Fernando Paulo of Ludlow, MA; two daughters Lucia Bento of Hartford, Idalina Jorge of Rocky Hill, and former daughter-in-law Fernanda Paulo of Vernon; seven grandchildren Irene Glowacki, Rui Ribeiro, Isilda Jorge, Linda Santos, Susie Lopes, Marcelo Ribeiro, Stacy Paulo; nine great grandchildren David Serrambana, Jenny Serrambana, Dennis Jorge, Jessica Jorge, Justin Santos, Kristi Glowacki, Joshua Santos, Christiano Lopes, Anthony Paulo; and six great-great-grandchildren Daviana Jorge, Devin Jorge, Dylan Serrambana, Aubrey Serrambana, Amari Hasan, Cameron Jorge. She was predeceased by one son-in-law Noe Jorge, and two sisters Isaura Terezo and Adelina Barreiros.
Funeral Services will be on Friday November 21, at 10:15am from the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford; with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at Our Lady Of Fatima Church, Hartford. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling Hours will be on Friday from 9-10:15am prior to funeral services.
