Maria Virgen Figueroa was born on September 23, 1943 in "La Isla del Encanto" Cayey, Puerto Rico. A woman of quiet courage and optimism, with only blind faith to guide her, she moved to the mainland United States with her husband and family. 

After settling in Hartford, Connecticut and creating a home for her growing family, Maria quickly became recognized as a staple in her community, as hard working, kind, and nurturing to all.  Always guided by principles of love, faith, honor, and respect; her selflessness and unconditional compassion will live in all of those she touched.  

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, at age 78, Maria Virgen Figueroa began her journey to heaven on April 21, 2022. She was preceded in death by her loving father Agapito Fernandez, Mother Francisca Fernandez beloved brothers Luis Fernandez, Andres Fernandez, Lorenzo Fernandez and Carlos Fernandez. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Efrain Figueroa. Five children, Maria Figueroa, Efrain Figueroa Jr., Raul Figueroa, Miguel Figueroa, and Roberto Figueroa; two sisters Norma Fernandez, and Luz (Mery) Fernandez; one brother Efrain Fernandez; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, April 26th at 11:00 am; at Sheehan - Hilborn - Breen Funeral Home at 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06110. 

There will be a viewing at 9:30 AM before the service begins. 

Then we will go to the Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave, Hartford, CT 06114.
