Maria de Lourdes Galopim Santos(Reis), 84, has passed quietly surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday,Nov. 12, 2014 The daughter of the late Jose Caetano dos Santos and Ilda Galopim. She was predeceased by her husband Manuel Casaleiro dos Reis, and her sister Maria C. Francisco. She leaves a daughter Maria de Lourdes Reis Rodrigues and her husband Eduardo Rodrigues, a son Manuel Henriques Reis and his wife Fernanda Reis,a grandson Jaime Reis Rodrigues and his wife Bridgette Rodrigues, a granddaughter Dr. Natercia Reis Rodrigues and her husband Arn Albertini, a granddaughter Briana Reis Khan and her husband Jalal Khan. She also leaves two sisters- in-law Maria I. Reis and Maria C. Reis and many nieces and nephews.Lourdes lived most of her life in Harford, and immigrated with her family from Portugal in 1966.She worked for many years at Colt Industries and Arrow Hart Electric. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Hartford.She loved embroidery and crochet, beautiful heirlooms for her family. She was an avid gardener and loved to bake her famous jelly rolls. She chose to be laid to rest with her husband, in her home town of Moitas Venda. Calling hours will be Saturday,(Nov. 15) from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen New Britain Ave., West Hartford,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Kane St. Hartford CT. Our special thank you to the Hospice Care that were like Angels to us.
