Marc Tetreault, 62, of Montreal, Canada passed away peacefully on April 25, 2021,in his brother’s home in Connecticut, surrounded by his entire loving family following a brief battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Paul E. Tetreault and Patricia (Bannon) Tetreault.
Born in 1958, Marc grew up in West Hartford and graduated from Northwest Catholic. He attended Providence College for 2 years before transferring to the Rhode Island School of Design where he graduated with a BFA degree in Illustration. Marc relocated to Canada for his most recent position at Ubisoft Entertainment where he worked for a number of years using his creative art skills as a texture artist on a number of very popular video games.
Marc is survived by his 6 siblings and their families: Paul Tetreault and his wife Kathy of Wethersfield, Mary Ellen Sulvester and her husband Brian of New Hartford, Dianne Wojcik and her husband Dan of Glastonbury, Lorraine Tetreault of Cromwell, Anne-Louise Krug and her husband Terry of Concord, NC, and Jeannine Hamill and her husband Pete of Newington.
Marc’s 19 nieces and nephews held a very special place in his heart. His visits back home were cherished for the fun and laughter he would bring, which earned him the title of “funniest man in the world.” He appreciated a good audience for his material and loved to make people laugh.
Marc was a kind and gentle soul who touched many people’s lives for the better in both the U.S. and Canada. He embraced the beauty of life through his artistic renderings, his love of cooking and his enjoyment of nature (especially on his annual camping trips to the Cape with best friends and family. He was a very talented artist whether it was painting, portraits, sketching or textures for software games.
Marc’s final wish was to come home and be surrounded by his family. This was all made possible by his great friends in Canada. His family feels incredibly blessed that they were together with him as Marc started his next journey. The twinkle in his eyes and his kind heart will be greatly missed.
There will be a private family Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Elizabeth Seton Church in Rocky Hill, 280 Brook St. at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 29, followed by burial services at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield. The Mass will be live-streamed through the funeral home’s website. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marc’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
