Manuel "Manny" Capaz Lavado, 84, of Cromwell, husband of Lidia (Pantaleao) Lavado passed away surrounded by his loving family April 17.2021 at Waters Edge Rehab of Middletown. He was born March 21.1937 in Mira de Aire, Portugal son of late Custodio and Maria Capaz Lavado. Brother to late Carlos Lavado and sister in-law Sylvia. Late sister Maria Capaz Querido whom passed as an infant.
Manny came to this country at the age of 9 years old, a graduate of Harford Public High School class of 1956. Whom when on to work as a machine operator for BARR Construction and VMS Construction where he retired. Manny was the rock of his family, a jack of all trades. He had many joys fishing, traveling and working in his yard. He loved baking and was known for his delicious desserts. He loved telling dirty jokes and making people laugh. He was a family man with the kindest soul who would offer a helping hand to his family and friends whenever it was needed.
Besides his loving wife Lidia of 64 years of marriage, he is survived by his daughters, Anna Maria Lavado of Rocky Hill; Christine Pantanella of Cromwell; Linda Minnis and her husband John of Cromwell; Grandchildren, Daniel Pantanella and wife Corie, Bryan Pantanella and Katelyn Minnis. Great-Granddaughter, Leyla Pantanella also Fur-baby Gus (The cat) all who reside in Cromwell. He also leaves behind his extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins along with others who were adopted into his family who called him Dad/Grandpa and many dear friends.
Manny lives on in all of us and will never be forgotten, he will be missed by all who knew him.

The funeral procession will be Saturday, April 24 at 10:00 am from Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. A walk through calling hour will be prior to the funeral procession from 9:00-10:00am at the funeral home.
