Obituary for Lynn Marie Loveland

Lynn Marie Loveland, 61, of East Hampton, CT, beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away on September 22, 2021, at Hartford Hospital, following a long illness, with her family comforting her on her final journey. Over the past four years, Lynn fought cancer valiantly, remaining as active as possible, and was elated that on September 17th she was able to serve as Maid of Honor for the wedding of her friends Don and Dawn Hanna.
Lynn was born in Hartford, daughter of Wayne and Lorraine Crockett Loveland, and grew up in Newington, graduating from Newington High School. Later, she graduated from the Katherine Gibbs School, and then received a BS from Post University. Lynn was deeply committed to talent development. She worked in leadership roles for 29 years at Northeast Utilities and Eversource in Human Resources. In her last position, Lynn was Human Resources Manager at TradeBe Corporation. Throughout her career, Lynn was an active volunteer at local skills clinics helping others to prepare resumes and become job-ready or retool their skills to increase their marketability.

Lynn was a gifted crafter and dedicated member of the Heart of the Valley/Greater Middletown Quilt Guild. She had an eye for the most fabulous fabric combinations, and her quilts are works of art. Lynn was highly organized, and she never stopped working. She was a deeply caring, generous, and thoughtful person, devoted to her family and friends. She cared tirelessly for ailing parents, relatives, and friends. She always brought a gift when she came to visit, and reached out to help wherever she was. Lynn believed that meaning in life is found in giving oneself to others, and she lived accordingly, freely sharing her beautiful smile, great sense of humor, and love of life.

Lynn is survived by her brothers Gregg and Mark Loveland, and her sister Beth Ann Loveland Sennett and husband Thomas Sennett. In addition, Lynn leaves devoted nieces Caroline and Sheila Sennett and nephew William Sennett, his wife Sarah Bartleson Sennett, and their infant son Samuel Crockett Sennett, the light of Lynn’s life. She also leaves four loving cousins and their wives, and her best friend, Nancy Greer. Lynn was blessed with many precious and thoughtful friends from school, work, quilting, and her neighborhood. Those neighbors circled and cheered for her improved health when she left for the hospital by ambulance before her final hospitalization. Not to be overlooked, Petie and Hugo, latest in a line of Lynn’s felines, affectionate and loyal, were left in loving hands.

The funeral will be private. There will be a memorial service celebrating Lynn’s life on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 1 pm, at the United Methodist Church of Hartford, 571 Farmington Avenue, Hartford CT 06015, with the Rev. Crystal Paul-Watson officiating. Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home of West Hartford has care of the arrangements.
