Lorraine Carmela Whitehead, 93, went peacefully into the arms of God, Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Born in Plainfield, CT, she was the daughter of Henry and Carmela (Prescott) Jodoin. Lorraine worked in the weaving mills of northeastern Connecticut until she moved to Hartford in 1949. She worked for the City Club of Hartford and the State of Connecticut. Lorraine was active in her community, participating in many organizations that would improve the lives of local residents. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Sorrows for almost 60 years. She lived her faith through helping those in need.

Surviving are her daughter, Joanne Whitehead of West Hartford and many loving friends. Lorraine was predeceased by her siblings, Pauline (Jodoin) Deojay and Norman Jodoin.

Calling hours will be Monday, February 20, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 79 New Park Avenue, Hartford. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
