Obituary for Lois Casale (Johns)

Lois Johns Casale, (July 7, 1934 - October 9, 2018). Predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years Albert J. Casale, MD.
Mom passed away on October 9, 2018 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her four children. A long struggle with Alzheimer’s may have taken Mom’s memory, but it did not change the sweet, gentle, loving person that she was. Mom lived a wonderful life, devoting every ounce of her being to Dad, her children, her grandchildren, and to her two daughters in-law. She was quiet and unassuming, but her presence was always felt when it was most important. High school sweethearts, Mom and Dad met at Bulkeley High School in 1950, and were married for 56 years until Dad passed away in 2014. Mom and Dad had a special bond, true unselfish love for each other, both wanting what was best for the other. Their lives were enriched by family and the many pets they had throughout the years. They were the perfect role models as husband and wife, as Mom and Dad, and as Nana and Grandpa. We take comfort in knowing Mom and Dad are back together again. Mom leaves her children and grandchildren Cynthia Casale Makki and her daughter, Nadia, Greg and Hatsie Casale and their three children, Matthew, Lauren and Holly, Joseph Casale, Doug Casale and Meredith Schuman Casale and their three children, Devon, Dara and Mason. The family wants to express special gratitude to Joann Brognetti for her wonderful care of Mom during the last few years of her life, as well as, Masonicare Hospice who were a wonderful support for our family. The family had a private service and burial on Friday, October 12, 2018. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of America or ASPCA Tributes.
