Obituary for Lawrence M. Peterson, Jr.

Lawrence Michael Peterson, Jr., 78, of Manchester, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, surrounded by his beloved family. Larry was born May 24, 1945, in Hartford, to Lawrence M. Peterson, Sr. and Eva (Roncaioli) Peterson. Larry was raised in West Hartford and graduated from Conard High School in 1964. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves in 1966, and his service to his country was one of his proudest accomplishments. Larry spent a long and successful career as a Nuclear Quality Control Engineer. His career was so important to him. He loved to work and never fully retired.

Larry was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 wonderful years, Karen S. (Reese) Peterson and three children: his son, Troy Peterson and his wife Karen Peterson, his daughter, Kellie DeCapua and his son, Lawrence M. Peterson, III and his wife Katy Perreira. Larry leaves behind his brother, Leonard Peterson and his wife Sandi Peterson, and his beloved nieces and nephews. Larry most cherished his grandchildren, Danielle Gacek, Maxwell Peterson and Jacob Peterson, and his great-grandson, Leo Dattolo.

Larry will be most remembered for his love of NASCAR, Corvettes, traveling, and spending time with his family. They will most miss his advice, his affinity for debate, and his big heart. His family would like to express their gratitude to the John A. DeQuattro Cancer Center and the staff at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
