Obituary for Laurentino “Larry” Dias Moutinho,

Laurentino Dias Moutinho, 75, of West Hartford died peacefully on February 23rd. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandpa, Professional Chef, Music Enthusiast, Dancefloor Slayer and Soccer Connoisseur. Laurentino was born in Serraquinhos, Tras-os-Montos Portugal to Alberto & Maria Moutinho on April 16, 1945. He was one of 8 children –predeceased by his brothers Albino, Antonio, Americo, Antonio-Maria, Carlos, his sister Joaquina and his mother and father-in-law Silvino and Barbara Pinto.

He survived by his wife Maria Moutinho (Pinto), his son Jim Moutinho and his wife Sandra Moutinho, his grandchildren Gavin and Sophia, his daughter Suzanne Moutinho-Caruso, her husband Jonathan Caruso, and his beloved dog Luke. He is also survived by his brother Jose Moutinho, his wife Marcelina, his sister-in-law Diana Rua, her husband Domingos Rua, as well as his many nieces and nephews.

Laurentino or “Larry” as his friends called him came to the America in April of 1972 to marry the love of his life Maria. They eventually settled in West Hartford and started their family. He loved cooking and worked as a Chef at The Hartford Insurance Co. and retired from St. Francis Hospital. He loved watching Porto win and being with his family, especially playing with his grandchildren. He was an avid music lover and shared his love of music with his children. Larry was always the life of the party no matter where the party was; if music was playing, he was always the first one dancing. His infectious smile and his humor will forever be missed.

Church Services will begin 11 AM at St. Mark/St. Gianna Church, 467 So. Quaker Lane, West Hartford, CT. Burial to follow after mass at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association
