Obituary for Kenneth S. Borawski

Kenneth S. Borawski, 74, of The Villages, FL, beloved husband of 33 years to the late Carleen (Hartigan) Borawski, passed away on October 21, 2019 in Florida after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 25, 1944 in Hartford, CT, son of the late Theodore and Rhoda (Feldman) Borawski. Ken lived most of his life in West Hartford and was a graduate of Hall High School, class of 1962. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves, 819th Medical Unit in West Hartford from 1967 to 1972. Ken was employed by Aetna/ING in the IT area for 40 years, retiring in January 2004. He was the secretary/treasurer for Aetna Ten Pin Pension League for many years. Ken was very versatile and had numerous talents and was known as the “smartest guy I know” by friends in CT and Cape Cod, where he and Carleen enjoyed many summers in their house in Brewster, MA. Ken was very handy and could do carpentry, electrical work, repairs of all kinds and was a whiz with computers. Ken was loving, patient, kind, loyal and was known for finding the best deals on anything. Ken was an outstanding husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves his daughter and son in-law, Jennifer and Walter Ullram, Jr. of East Hampton, CT, a stepson Ronald Mays and his wife Michelle of Oxford, CT. Ken was “Papa” to their children Ronald, Jr. (“RJ”) and Alexis (“Lexi”) Mays who adored him and will miss him greatly. Ken also leaves a sister and brother in-law, Lois and Peter Graham of The Villages, FL, a brother and sister in-law, Robert and Natalie Borawski of Tampa, FL. Ken was pre-deceased by his brother, Lawrence Borawski. Ken also leaves his sister in-law, Theresa Borawski of FL, several nephews and a niece. Ken will be missed by all. Family and friends may call at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave. West Hartford, CT on Sunday, October 27 from 3 to 5 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 28 at 10AM at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home in West Hartford, CT with burial following at Riverside Cemetery in Farmington, CT at 11AM.
