Obituary for Kathleen E. (Sullivan) Boyle

Kathleen Elizabeth (Sullivan) Boyle, beloved wife of Brendan P. Boyle of West Hartford, died Saturday, September 30, 2023. Kathy was born in Hartford to the late Francis and Eva Sullivan. Kathy grew up in West Hartford, graduating from Northwest Catholic High School. She earned a Bachelors Degree from Saint Joseph College before starting work at SNET, where she met her future husband on her birthday (while wearing a yellow raincoat). After raising her children, she worked as a paraprofessional at Sedgwick Middle School and for the West Hartford ESOL program. Kathy loved to travel, filling her children’s school vacations with adventures and historical site visits, and her annual August trip to Kennebunkport, ME.

Kathleen leaves her husband Brendan, with whom she was to celebrate her 47th wedding anniversary later this month; son Timothy Boyle and his wife Karla, along with her grandchildren Colin and Abiageal; daughter Meghan Boyle; and daughter Kristen Generas and her husband George, all of West Hartford; her much loved Aunt Helen Pinney; sisters-in-law Mary Jane Sullivan, Eileen Rogers, Kathleen Fiala and Jacqueline Sullivan; brothers-in-law Thomas Boyle, John O’Boyle; nephew Ryan Sullivan and his wife Deanna; niece Jennifer Sullivan; niece Betsy Sullivan; nephew Jeffrey Sullivan and his wife Hannah; niece Ann Marie Bell and her husband Bill; niece Maureen Rogers; niece Patricia Cronengberg and her husband Paul; nephew Brendan Fiala; cousins Diane Roman and her husband Ken; Deborah Donovan and her husband Bob. Kathy was a loving great-aunt to numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she loved spending time with. She was predeceased by her beloved brother Bill Sullivan and her sister-in-law Margaret O'Brien. Kathy was ever present in her children and grandchildren's lives and loved having her family around.

The family will hold calling hours on Saturday, (October 7), from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 467 South Quaker Lane, West Hartford. Burial will be private.
