Karen (Hansult) Garofalo 73, wife of Steven Garofalo of West Hartford passed away surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, July 29, 2023.  She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.  In addition to her husband of 52 years Karen was survived by her two sons, Steven F. Garofalo and wife Marilena of Southington and Erik Garofalo of West Hartford.  Karen will also be greatly missed by her four grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph, Marissa and Elizabeth.  She is also survived by her sister Janis Malloy and husband Dan of Canton; sisters-in-law Sarah Garofalo and Nancy Connors of West Hartford, and many nieces and nephews.

Karen was a sales representative with Ney Degussa for several years.  She was an active parishioner at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, West Hartford.  Karen’s interests were in gardening, she loved traveling and had a kindred spirit towards all animals.  She also was a loyal sports fan to her teams.  Her most passionate thing in the world was spending quality time with her family at their beach home in Westbrook.
